Connecting to life means relaxing in the reality of the moment, here and now. This is not possible when we are trapped in our reactive patterns but only when we are:
free from boredom, fear, anxiety and depression
free from lack and limitations
free from error and wrong action
free from dissatisfaction and unfulfilment
free from past conditioning
free from stress-related pain and disease
free from worry about the future
free from negative habits and emotions
Mindfulness offers a concrete way to free yourself from the compulsive influence of these conditions. By focusing the attention on the present moment experience, contact is made with the inner freedom. This freedom allows space and acceptance for all human experiences.
In this way, unpleasant thoughts or feelings no longer overwhelm and it is possible to respond adequately to difficult situations. This means being creative and intelligent versus emotional and intellectual.
Mindfulness focuses on training the attention, in particular with the quality of attention. The attention is non judgmental and is directed mainly to the present moment. It is therefore called “the power of now”.
